Passions

Passions

During my recent pop-up events at Vegan Playground, I was met with a couple of deep and interesting questions.

One of these questions concerned how to regain their passion. I find this question particularly intriguing for the reason that passion looks different for each person. For one person, living their passion might be having a stable job and income after having a life of hardship. For another, it might look like feverishly tinkering in the garage forgetting to sleep or eat. So with such a seemingly drastic difference between the two, what commonality do they have? At the core, what does being passionate or having passion really mean? I can only give my humble opinion but I think passion is the spark that gets us moving and living. There are times in our life when the fire might begin to dwindle and other times when it's fiery and difficult to contain. Can it be extinguished? Possibly, if unable to breathe and flourish. Can they be reignited? Absolutely. New passions can be found as well.

So what did the cards say when a client asked this question? The cards spoke of gratitude and nurturing yourself. Passion in my opinion is what keeps us moving as I mentioned before. By recognizing and appreciating what we already have or do, we allow for more abundance to flow towards us. By nurturing ourselves, we are not being selfish, but rather, we are checking in and stoking the flame within us. Notice how writers get writer's block or artists add paint to a canvas unsatisfied and confused as to why it might not be working. Taking a break in both cases might provide a fresh perspective or fresh eyes on the project. Same with any passion. We can't be expected to devote each minute of every day and all of our energy into something without first stepping back and giving time to ourselves. Allow for your passion to breathe by allowing yourself a chance to breathe and replenish. Your passions are an extension of yourself and when you are depleted, so will be your inspiration over time.

What are you passionate about? What does passion mean to you?
